Content Upload

Many of our customers use this service to save themselves time and to add value to the overall package. 

Customers buy USBs preloaded with their files as a more environmentally friendly way to distribute information.  The information has the advantage that it can be interactive and linked through to areas of their website in ways that a catalogue or brochure couldn’t.

Examples of content we have uploaded for our customers:

1)      A venue in London uploading floor plans, room rates, details of their catering facilities etc to distribute to event organisers.

2)      A car company uploading an html file incorporating video clips of a newly launched car, technical specification, contact details for dealerships and links to the manufacturers website where users could specify their car.

3)      A tool for healthcare professionals which calculates the appropriate drug for a patient based on inputting various patient specific information.

4)      A Flash file outlining what a company was promoting at a particualr trade show including an interactive map showing different worldwide sales offices and an embedded video speech from the CEO.

5)      Course notes or prospectuses for distribution to students.

6)      Speaker notes and sponsor synopsis’ for a conference.  

Often, customers already have content that they would like to upload but need some sort of page created through which it can all be accessed.  This means the recipient can easily navigate to the different information through a professional looking welcome page.  Contact us for more information on this.

Can the content be made undeletable?

Yes.  We can now do this in such a way that the USB is listed in ‘My Computer’ as two removable disks.  One will just be like a normal USB for the recipient to use for all their own files.  The other one can be labelled with your company name.  The contents of this section can be undeletable.

Can the content be set to autorun upon insertion into the USB port?

We can offer this service.  It is important to point out that some Anti Virus software may prevent this operation taking place because self executing files are identified as a risk.  Also the file will autorun every time it is inserted which could become an annoyance.  Autorun should only really be used for fairly small files (under 10MB) which can load up quickly.  For example a PDF landing page, very short Flash file or a PowerPoint presentation.

What file type can we accept?

Any file type.  The only limit is the size of the memory on the USB stick.  If it’s a 256MB for example you can not upload more than 256MB of information.

How do you send us the data?

If under 10MB:  Email them to your account manager.

If over 10MB: Either burn them to a USB or CD and post it or upload to our ftp site.  If you haven’t used an ftp site before we can talk you through this very simple process.
